Health, safety and security
Scheme Security
Some sheltered housing schemes have master keys which are held by the Scheme Co-ordinators. This is a key that the Scheme Co-ordinator can use to enter any property in an emergency. If there is no master locking system ,duplicate keys will be held by the Scheme Co-ordinator and will be available to relief staff in an emergency.
If you have given us the name of a person to contact in the event of an emergency, we suggest that you also give this person a key to your home. You may wish to leave a key with a neighbour or friend living nearby who will be easy to contact if you lock yourself out.
Health and Safety
The Scheme Co-ordinators are responsible for ensuring that, where possible, the areas surrounding sheltered properties are free from dangers and hazards.
Tri-monthly Risk Assessments are carried out in all communal areas by the Scheme Co-ordinators and residents are welcome to become involved in this process.
