DCH Equality Strategy 2012 to 2015

Faces from our Equality Strategy cover

Promoting equality, diversity and inclusion "fairness for all"

At Devon & Cornwall Housing group (DCH), we are committed to ensuring equality, diversity and inclusion in all our relationships, whether in our services, our governance or as an employer.

Following the introduction of the new Public Sector Equality Duty, part of the Equality Act (2010), DCH has outlined a draft equality strategy and proposed five equality objectives to be established over the next three years.

This strategy will be DCH’s public commitment of how we intend to promote equality and diversity and to ensure these considerations are embedded in everything that we do. It will aim to meet the individual duties imposed by legislation but will go further to inlcude all areas of equality whether they are covered by legislation or not.

We can only realise our vision if we remove barriers, eliminate discrimination, harassment and victimisation, advance equality of opportunity and foster good relations between people, in the effective delivery of our services and in our performance as an employer.

The individual organisations within DCH are all working together in this new approach to embedding equality, diversity and inclusion into our core values.

Our draft equality strategy and summary are published below.

The final strategy and summary will be discussed and agreed by the DCH Group Board on 31 May 2012.
